We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is God’s infallible, inerrant Word, and our supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. All Scripture is a testimony to Jesus Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.
We believe there is one and only one living and true God, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. This eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in Jesus Christ. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal, visible return in glory to judge the earth. We believe in the Holy Spirit, coeternal with the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit inspired the Scripture, convicts of sin, calls people to salvation, transforms us to holiness and gifts the Body of Christ for service.
We believe salvation is God’s deliverance of people from His wrath through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and God’s ultimate work through Christ to restore all things to perfection in the new heavens and new earth. All of mankind has rebelled against God and is condemned to eternal death. Jesus, God’s Son, died in the place of sinners. Jesus rose from the dead, conquering sin & death. Through faith in Jesus, people can experience God’s forgiveness and have hope of eternal life with Him. One day Jesus will return to make all things new and all who know Jesus will be raised to life.
We believe in the universal church as the Body of Christ, including believers from every tribe, tongue, people and nation. We believe in the local church, consisting of a local family of believers, associated by covenant in the faith, seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. The scriptural officers of a local church are elders and deacons. Each local church is called to faithfully proclaim the Gospel, administer the symbolic ordinances of believers baptism and communion, and call its members to holy living.
We believe in the Kingdom of God & His final reign over all things. At present, Christians live under God’s rule while we wait for the fullness of God’s Kingdom that will be expressed at the return of Jesus. When he returns, Jesus will judge all mankind in righteousness. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell, the place of everlasting punishment. The righteous, in their resurrected and glorified bodies, will dwell forever with Christ in the new heavens and new earth.

The greatest news in the world is not what we have done for God, but what God has done for us in Christ. This Good News should shape and empower every aspect of life.
We place a high value on gathering as a church body to hear from God as the Bible is taught and to respond to God with worship and praise.
Beyond our weekend gatherings, we are faithful to pursue accountable relationships, to develop intentional friendships and live out the “one anothers” of scripture. Interested in joining a connection group? Check out our Launch Point class to get connected!
We want others to know Christ, so we share the love of Jesus as we speak the Gospel and show the love of Jesus as we live for the good of our neighbor.
We believe the university is the most strategic mission field in the world, so we prioritize reaching students through our college ministry, The Salt Company.
We believe that our measure of success is not simply our seating capacity, but our sending capacity. As we strive to be a vibrant Gospel church in Ames, we want to fuel a multiplying Gospel movement through our church-planting initiative, The Salt Network.

Fueled by the gospel, Cornerstone strives to be a gathered family that is outward-facing; building up the next generation of the church – these values are what motivate the continual development of active ministries within the church, the community, and abroad.
Cornerstone Kids is a place for young children, ranging from infant to 5th grade, to gather in a safe, gospel-centered environment to learn about Jesus, form relationships, and develop positive routines in the church.
Cornerstone Youth is a place for middle and high school students to gather together to grow in their relationship with Jesus through teaching, worship, and connecting with other students and leaders through small groups. 6th-8th graders meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30p-8:00p. 9th-12th graders meet on Wednesday nights from 8:00p-9:30p.
Through the ministry of The Salt Company, roughly 1,300 students gather every Thursday during the school year to hear Biblical teaching and worship God together.

We want every person at Cornerstone to connect inside a meaningful group. Find a group that meets your needs and context of life!

As a sending church, we equip, mobilize, resource, and commission our members to plant churches across the United States and reach the unreached around the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We believe God’s plan is that each local church be led by a team of qualified, spiritually mature men whose proven leadership in their home and community demonstrates their ability to lead God’s church. The central expression of this value of plurality is seen in how our elders lead Cornerstone Church together.
For nearly 30 years, we have seen God do more than we could ever ask or imagine. As a church family, we want membership to be a way for us to covenant together and affirm a shared confession, a shared vision, and a shared commitment to one another as members of Cornerstone Church.
