The Marriage Experience

Reconnect + Rediscover God’s Good Design For Your Marriage

Feb 27-28, 2026

Friday: 6:30–8:30p | Saturday: 9:00a–11:00a

Personal, practical insights to help all marriages grow.

The Marriage Experience is a biblically based and clinically informed weekend for married couples of all ages. Designed to be engaging and interactive, couples will come away equipped to take meaningful steps forward in their marriage.

This isn’t a typical marriage conference.

It’s rooted in Scripture, shaped by trusted counseling practices, and focused on tools that actually work in real life.

Who It’s For

Every married couple can benefit from The Marriage Experience.

Some marriages need a rebuild. Some need a tune-up. Some are doing well but want to keep growing. No marriage has it all together, and no marriage is too broken.

Come regardless of who you are or where your marriage is.

What to Expect

Meet Steve

The Marriage Experience will be led by Steve Jones, Cornerstone’s Executive Director of Ministries and a licensed mental health counselor at Cornerstone Counseling.

Steve’s work sits at the intersection of biblical truth and clinical experience, bringing together a deep commitment to Scripture with practical counseling tools that help couples grow in real, everyday ways.

Steve holds graduate degrees in both theological studies and clinical mental health counseling and is trained in proven approaches to couples counseling.

A significant focus of Steve’s work is marital counseling. He helps couples strengthen friendship, develop healthy communication and conflict-management skills, and move toward greater connection and stability in their marriage. Alongside marriage work, Steve regularly addresses the individual wounds, unresolved hurts, and patterns that can quietly create distance over time.

As a husband, father, and grandfather, Steve brings both professional expertise and personal perspective. His approach is grounded, compassionate, and practical, with a heart to help couples rediscover God’s good design for marriage and take meaningful steps forward together.

Frequently
Asked Questions

No. This is for every married couple, whether you’ve been married 5 weeks or 50 years. No marriage has it all together, and there’s always room to address challenges and keep growing in any phase or stage.

You’re not alone in that. We encourage you to start with an honest, low-pressure conversation. Take a few moments to sit down and share why this matters to you, and ask your spouse about any concerns or hesitations they may have. Above all, pray. Ask that God would soften your spouse’s heart and that they would view this weekend as an opportunity to grow and reconnect.

No. The guided activities are designed for you and your spouse to work through together. You won’t be asked to share personal details with other couples.

You are welcome here. Come as you are. No marriage is too broken to rebuild.

That’s a great reason to attend. Strong marriages still need care, attention, and intentional growth.

It will incorporate both. The Marriage Experience is biblically based and clinically informed, combining scripture with trusted counseling insights that can be applied in real life.

No preparation is required. Just come ready to listen, reflect, and take a few meaningful steps forward together.

Yes! We will be selling Steve’s top three recommended books on marriage—The Meaning of Marriage, The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work, and Intended for Pleasure. You can also view the full list on our resources page.

That’s okay. The Marriage Experience is designed for couples in every season, whether your marriage feels strong, strained, or somewhere in between. If you’re unsure and would like to talk things through or ask a question, we’d love to help. Email Julia at [email protected].
