Cornerstone Communications: The Cornerstone Church Communications Ministry exists to serve and support our Cornerstone ministries through thoughtful and excellent creative content. Through design, photography, and video we strive to effectively communicate the unique stories of people in and of our church family, ultimately pointing to the greatest gospel story of Jesus Christ. Job Responsibilities Participate as a contributing member of the Communications Ministry and Cornerstone Staff.
  • Attend weekly meetings, semesterly ministry touchpoints, and semesterly team strategy/planning meetings
  • Lead and/or participate in team-wide brainstorming Provide and receive project feedback
  • Assist and support other team members as/if needed
  • Develop process guides, resource guides, and templates to ministry departments as needed
  • Adhere to Cornerstone and ministry branding guidelines as needed
  • Fulfill all part-time staff expectations for Cornerstone Church employees
Fulfill and complete Iowa State University internship requirements, paperwork, and coursework on or before due dates if relevant. Create excellent work within your internship’s field for Cornerstone Church and its ministries that might include the following:
  • Graphic Design Filled
    • Event identity and branding Social Media graphics
    • Sunday Morning graphics: sermon series, announcements, etc.
    • Print materials: magazines, handouts, bookmarks, mailers, etc.
    • Large banners and signage
    • Merchandise
  • Videography
    • Shoot, edit, and distribute videography for stories of Cornerstone, church-wide events, ministry events, and social media platforms.
  • Photography Filled
    • Shoot, edit, and distribute photography for Sunday gatherings, church-wide events, ministry events, and staff photos.
    • Social media (Facebook and Instagram)
  • Content creation and publication for posts, stories, reels, and highlights Filled
    • Compelling and effective caption-writing in alignment with Cornerstone branding and values.
    • Manage posts and respond to comments and messages as needed
  • Website Filled
    • Ongoing maintenance and updating of Cornerstone’s website
    • Compelling and effective writing skills in alignment with Cornerstone branding and values.
Position-Specific Qualifications and Experience:
  • Intermediate level of skill in Adobe Creative Suite applications relevant to your internship field (i.e. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premier, After Effects, etc.).
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in related internship field is preferred.
  • Prior related experience in related internship field is preferred.
  • Proven ability to take projects from beginning to end (concept to production to final edit).
  • Must have an ability to simultaneously manage and administer multiple tasks, projects or events, and the people who are involved with them so both the project and the people succeed.
  • Organized, creative thinker and highly productive, working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player, team builder, self-starter, dreamer, detail-oriented, teachable.
  • Must be able to handle evaluation and critical feedback from team members, supervisor, other staff or church members.
  • Must possess good customer service and people skills.
  • Must desire to continue to learn and grow in ministry. Committed to improvement, personal development as a creative, seeks constructive criticism, understands strengths and weaknesses.
Job Evaluation Your Job Description and Evaluation will be the basis of regular touchpoints and coaching in addition to mid-year (December) and end-of-year (May) reviews for both the communications ministry department collectively and the employee individually. Your direct supervisor will inspect what they expect from you as an employee.
