GriefShare

A ministry of Church Initiative hosted at Cornerstone Church

GriefShare is a ministry that helps people who are grieving the death of a family member or friend. Each session consists of a video seminar featuring top experts on grief, such as Robert Kellemen, Elyse Fitzpatrick, Brad Hambrick, and Paul David Tripp. After viewing the video, group members will spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in their lives.

During the week each participant will have the opportunity to use their workbook for further personal study of the grieving process and to help sort out their emotions through journaling.

Ministry Details

Each GriefShare session has three distinct elements:

1) video seminar with experts on grief and recovery subjects

2) support group discussion based on the video and what is going on in your life

3) personal study and reflection, using the workbook that comes with the class.

You are welcome to begin attending the GriefShare group at any session. Each is “self-contained,” so you do not have to attend in sequence.

Who is GriefShare for?

GriefShare is for people grieving the death of a family member or friend. You might be experiencing other very real types of losses such as divorce, the loss of a job, etc., but these losses are not the focus of GriefShare.

Can anyone attend?

This ministry is open to anyone who is grieving the loss of a loved one. Feel free to invite family and friends outside of Cornerstone, including those who may not attend church.

Who leads the sessions?

Staff and lay people who who have experience with mourning and grief counseling will facilitate the class.

Is there a cost to register?

The cost of GriefShare materials is $20. There are scholarships available if needed.
