This winter, the Public School Ministry is collecting winter clothing items to distribute to the public schools in Ames and surrounding communities. There are over 2,500 students who receive free or reduced lunches within the districts served by our ministry. Many of these same families request support from the school to provide winter clothes. Last year, Cornerstone was able to provide 400 pairs of gloves, 200 hats, and 70 winter clothing items such as boots, coats and snow pants to local schools. We hope to donate even more this year with your help! New or gently used items are both accepted.
All donated items will go to the public schools, for children in kindergarten-12th grade. Adult sizes will be going specifically to middle school and high school students.
Donations will be collected on Sunday November 26th and Sunday December 3rd at the Third Place Booth. Please do not take items directly to the schools. For questions or alternate drop-off please contact Julie Seiler at firstname.lastname@example.org.
