Description of the Trip
This is a great trip for singles, couples or families with older children who would like to experience life in another culture while contributing in a significant way to the lives of local residents.
Catalyst Resources International works with local pastors to identify families in their churches with physical needs, and then links them to Christians in the U.S. who would like to help meet those needs in the name of Christ. While there, we will be working with a local family to build a simple house for them; the family will already have invested money and effort in preparing the work site before our arrival. No prior construction experience is required! During the construction, some of us can spend time pouring into the many kids who will gather to watch the action. We will also make ourselves available one day to visit and contribute in whatever way we can to the House of Hope, an orphanage founded and run by Justin and Diane Herman. Finally, we will take a day for fun, enjoying as a team what Guatemala has to offer.
