Leaders are usually recommended by a current connection group leader or elder and then follow a process of application and evaluation by the elder team to become a leader. Connection group leaders are equipped at trainings throughout the year and meet regularly with a connection group coach. Evaluations and expectations of leaders are based on the following Cornerstone leadership values (based on 1 Timothy 3:1-13, Titus 1:5-9, Acts 6:3-6).
Authentic– First to confess and transparent
Healthy– Physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, relationally, and maritally
Humble– Praise deflector, owns mistakes, submits to authority and teachable
Hungry– Hardworking, excellent and not complacent during times of success
Uniquely gifted to serve the church as a connection group leader
Ability to lead, shepherd and contribute to a small group context
Adds joy to the leadership culture and health
Commitment to the Biblical beliefs and practices of Cornerstone Church
These values serve as the criteria in how we evaluate our leadership team members. As a church leadership team we value accountability to these traits and expect each team member will demonstrate continual growth in all of these areas.
