LEADER APPLICATION PROCESS
A current Cornerstone connection group leader submits a Leadership Recommendation form. We request that a recommended leader be a consistent member of a group for at least 6 months before being recommended for leadership.
Our major season for leadership recruitment is in the late-spring – summer as we look to begin new groups in the fall. However, recommendation forms and applications may be submitted throughout the year.
Once a Recommendation Form is received, we will contact the recommended candidate by phone or email to talk about applying for connection group leadership. Following a conversation, the Leadership Application will be emailed to the individual to fill out within two weeks.
Once the Leadership Application is submitted, a member (or members) of the Connection Group Elder Team will arrange a short interview with the applicant to discuss their interest in leading. During this time we will evaluate the applicant based on our leadership values of Character, Capacity, Chemistry, Competency and Convictions. The goal of this meeting is to address any questions or concerns from the Recommendation Form and Leadership Application. After this meeting the interviewing elder or elders will make a recommendation to the Connection Group Elder Team.
The Elders will communicate their decision to the applicant in an appropriate and timely way.
If accepted to the Connection Group Leadership Team there will be an orientation meeting with the new leader(s) and a Connection Group Elder to determine the life-stage/demographic target, time, date, location and establish clarity on starting and leading a connection group. This meeting will also connect the new leader with the coach that will be responsible to shepherd and shape them as a leader.
A new group will be launched and established.
All leaders continue to be part of regular and ongoing meetings (large-group gatherings, trainings and coaching) for character development, competency training, chemistry and capacity evaluation and deepening of biblical convictions.
