This year we have been blessed to share so many great moments with you.
Here are some of the ways we worshipped and grew as a church family.
2016 Salt Conference | February
February 5-7, more than 1,300 students from across Iowa gathered to worship God and engage in teaching at the Salt Company Spring Conference 2016.
Easter Services | March
We had 5,678 adults and children join us in Ames, Ankeny, and Boone, at our “Life Unveiled” Easter services, March 26-28.
We were overjoyed to have 116 people be baptized at all four services. Read the full report here.
Salt Network | April
As we seek to continue as a next-generation church, we were excited to launch The Salt Network in April, our plan to reach 20 Midwest universities in 5 years.
Brent & Kari Minter Join Ankeny | July
Since 2012, Cornerstone Ankeny has continued to be blessed with growth. In July, we welcomed Brent Minter and his family from Westwind, as Brent became our lead pastor of Ankeny.
Cottage Grove Services Begin | August
We were blown away by how many joined with us in Des Moines to help support Cottage Grove, both financially, in prayer, and by investing sweat equity to get the building up and running. Cottage Grove officially opened in August!
Salt Company Kickoff | August
Even though we had a change in location, we still saw close to 2,000 in attendance at our Salt Company Fall Kickoff.
The Story of God | September
In September, we kicked off a brand-new series, “The Story of God.” The repeated themes have become more and more pronounced as we take a macro-view of God’s story.
We also bought 3,000 Bibles to hand out, making sure everyone who attends is able to walk through The Word with us.
Minneapolis Church Plant Announced | October
As the Salt Network continues to expand, we’re thrilled to be planning a church plant in Minneapolis in Fall 2017!
Christmas Services | December
At our Christmas services in Ames, we had more than 5,732 join us between three services at all our locations.
And finally, thanks to your generosity, we were able to donate more than 18,000 pounds of food to MICA through our Bag Hunger Christmas drive, bringing our end-of-year total to 33,800 pounds of food donated through Bag Hunger in 2016!
We always rejoice in calling you our family. 2016 was a year that the Lord did amazing things: what more can He do through us in 2017?
